Scholar-Practitioner Symposium:
Hot Topics in Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development

The 2017 Call for Proposals is now closed. We would love to have you join us as a guest at the Symposium: Register to attend here.

 The Scholar-Practitioner Symposium is a professional development initiative providing faculty, graduate students, and full-time professionals from NC State and other area universities with an opportunity to present their research to our scholarly community.Topics should be related to K-16 education including adult, workforce, and continuing professional education, educational leadership, education policy, counselor education, or higher education. Presentation format options include traditional research posters and Pecha Kucha-style presentations, which require presenters to capture and communicate their scholarly research in a 20 seconds-per-slide, 20-slide presentation.

Submission Deadline:  Tuesday, January 17, 2017

Submission Guidelines:

Proposals will be accepted online via the Scholar-Practitioner Symposium Proposal Submission Form.

The following will be requested via the online form:

  • Session title
  • Preferred presentation format
  • Abstract/brief description of the session (150 word maximum)
  • 500 word (maximum) proposal
  • Contact information (name, title, department, email, phone number)

 

Proposal evaluation:

Proposal submissions will be evaluated based on the following: 

1) Clear and bounded research problem; 2) Relevance of cited literature; 3) Well-formulated conceptual framework; 4) Clarity of the research questions, purpose(s), and/or hypothesis; 5) Well formulated research design and methods; 6) Clarity of data collection and analysis (if applicable); and 7) Clearly-stated implications for professional practice.
